Biography

Karie Strangeway, a native of the Chicago area has particular interests in portraiture, rural architecture, sports, and commercial interior photography. Though an artist at heart from a very young age, she has spent the past 27 years as a professional in the electronics industry, and is a recent graduate of Devry University with a bachelor’s in Business Administration and Information Systems.
Throughout her career, Karie has had the opportunity to travel on business, which inspired her to take up photography as a hobby. Spending hours on the road, she would pass the time with her point and shoot camera, documenting her travels in the Midwest. Her father was also an amateur photographer, who passed away in 1999. When she inherited his film cameras and equipment, which had been packed away for 10 years, she immediately put them to use and hasn’t put a camera down since.
Karie’s photography was published in the 2010 edition of the Capture My Chicago coffee table book. She was also a featured photographer on the CBS2 news in September of 2010. Her website has not been released as of yet.
